there are different books for different seasons.
there are books for when i am energetic and willing to plow thru concepts ideas and reflections. like c.s.lewis or bonhoeffer or kalainithi or atul gawande. there are books that are little disposable throwaways to fill distracted gaps in the day. like rom coms and chick lit. although some turn out to be little gems, like katie fforde and maeve binchy. there are the modern asian books, often translated, polished heartwarming bagatelles. and hard core murder stories where the bad guys get a thumping comeuppance. these are my comfort genre.
finally there are books to read when the weather cools and the year's end approaches and i think of cinnamon hot chocolate autumn colors and warm clothes. this is one of them. the final season of the year is starting to start!
